On Being An Adult
Nov. 03, 2025
Being an adult is hard work, man.
So, I work a full-time job. That's pretty common for an American adult, especially in this day and age. I have the unfortunate addition, however, to about an hour-long commute to and from work. So my eight-hour work day winds up being more like a ten or eleven-hour day. And that does not leave me a whole lot of time to do much else during my days. Honestly, it leaves me feeling not quite human most of the time. I don't have much time to unwind, pursue creative goals, or enjoy any hobbies. Sometimes I come home so tired that I can't take the time to deal with my mental health needs.
Anyway. I often need a reminder, so I recommend taking some time to specifically take care of yourself. I forget to do that a lot, and you might need that reminder if you do as well. Hopefully I will be able to find a little more time for myself when I move closer to work.
See you in my next blog post (hopefully sooner than a month away...)
